4 Product Specification
The Solid State Drive (SSD) is a small form factor non-volatile memory drive which provides high capacity
data storage.
The drive with the IDE interface (2.00mm pitch) operates in three transfer modes:
UDMA
(Ultra Direct Memory Access)
up to Mode 4
66MB/s burst
MDMA (Multi Word Direct Memory Access)
up to Mode 2
16MB/s burst
PIO
(Programmed Input / Output)
up to Mode 4
16MB/s burst
The drive behaves as a standard ATA (IDE) disk drive. It can be set as master or slave by a jumper.
The drive has an internal intelligent controller which manages interface protocols, data storage and
retrieval as well as hardware RS-code Error Correction Code (ECC), defect handling, diagnostics and clock
control.
The wear leveling mechanism assures an equal usage of the Flash memory cells to extend the life time.
The hardware RS-code ECC allows to detect and correct 4 symbols per 528 Bytes.
The drive has a voltage detector and a powerful power-loss management feature to prevent data
corruption after power-down.
The specification has been realized and approved by the ATA/ATAPI-7 specification.
